Extrusion Solutions North, LLC is independently run by Tim Groth (President/Owner), who is a consultant to the extrusion industry bringing over forty years of experience. He works onsite or can work virtually or telephonically on your project and process. He provides an array of services to support multiple departments at the plant level.
What Extrusion Solutions North, LLC offers:
- Troubleshooting – Processing and troubleshooting of profile, composite, sheet, laminating, coating, and pet food extrusion;
- Training/Seminars – Provides onsite or virtual training;
- Extrusion Tooling – Mentoring of tool designers on the latest methods of tool design, provide 3D tool designs for tools to be built from, or provide complete tooling;
- Lean Manufacturing – Facilitate a Value Stream Mapp (VSM) and work with your team to streamline the process of tooling from business quoted through handoff to production;
- Equipment Sourcing – Work with your team to source the best fit equipment for your process by vetting quotes, or sourcing equipment;
- Screw Design – Provide a quote for the proper screw required for your materials and process, or assist you to sort through what screw is best for your process;
- Plant and Process Assessment – Provide an assessment of your process as compared to the industry’s standard along with action items to become more efficient;
- Operational Structure – Provide operator programs of operator classifications, testing, responsibility matrix and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s);
- Plant Set Up – Assist with laying out a new plant, the selection of equipment, determining the required amperage (AMP) service, and all the requirements to get up and going;
- Engineering Support – Can provide support both onsite or virtually.

I began my extrusion career on the shop floor and learned every aspect of an extrusion plant. I have worked in every position to include operator, process engineer, application designer, tool designer, and ended my corporate extrusion career as a Plant Manager. After leaving the technical side of day-to-day extrusion, I missed being in the thick of processing and chose to move to consulting in order to help solve customer problems. Being that I started on the shop floor, I am able to relate to the shop personnel and genuinely like to work with a team of people to share my knowledge and experiences. I am willing to stand on cement, troubleshooting with the shop personnel, and also maintain the confidence to present in a conference room; I am willing to assist with it all.
