John is an independent engineering consultant specialising in plastics recycling processes and machinery. With more than three decades of experience in the recycling industry, he provides practical, independent advice to plastics processors, recyclers, machinery manufacturers and investors.

With a strong technical bias, areas of expertise include machinery design, equipment specification, installation, commissioning, process optimisation and technical troubleshooting. He has successfully managed projects from initial concept through to full production, supporting customers throughout the UK and internationally.

Personal Profile

John is the owner & Technical Director of Oxplas Ltd, an independent engineering consultancy with more than 30 years’ experience in plastics recycling, recycling machinery and manufacturing engineering.

Throughout his career he has worked across the complete lifecycle of recycling equipment—from concept development and machinery design, through installation, commissioning and long-term operational support. His experience combines practical engineering knowledge with strategic consultancy, helping clients improve processing efficiency, increase equipment performance and solve complex technical challenges.

John has successfully delivered engineering projects throughout the UK, Europe and internationally, working with plastics processors, converters, recycling companies and machinery manufacturers. His background includes senior technical and management positions, giving him a strong understanding of both engineering and commercial requirements.

His consultancy work includes machinery specification and selection, process optimisation, project management, troubleshooting, technical support and independent engineering advice. He is particularly experienced in helping businesses maximise the performance and reliability of plastics recycling operations while identifying practical, cost-effective improvements.

John is fluent in English and Brazilian Portuguese, based in the United Kingdom but travels overseas frequently and has installed machinery and supported customers on 5 continents.
